Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Apprentice – Kick start your career in Logistics

Are you ready to start an exciting career in logistics and warehousing? As a Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Apprentice, you'll get hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of supply chain operations, within our central stores team. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn on the job, develop new skills, and grow your career while being part of a supportive team.

This role requires study and completion of the relevant apprenticeship qualification, you will complete a minimum of 6 hours for study and off the job training to complete this course.

The ideal candidate is motivated, eager to learn, and physically fit for warehouse tasks. They possess strong attention to detail, good teamwork skills, and a positive attitude. Basic problem-solving abilities and a willingness to follow safety protocols are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving goods: Assisting with unloading deliveries and checking the quantity and quality of items.
  • Storing items: Learning how to properly organise and store products in the warehouse to maximise space and efficiency.
  • Picking and packing orders: Gathering products from storage to fulfill customer or internal orders and preparing them for dispatch.
  • Inventory management: Monitoring stock levels, conducting regular stock counts, and helping maintain accurate records.
  • Loading and shipping: Assisting with packaging and loading goods onto delivery vehicles, ensuring they are properly secured for transport.
  • Health and safety: Learning safety regulations and best practices to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Numeracy and Literacy Skills
  • Organisation and efficiency in managing goods.
  • Problem-solving when dealing with inventory issues or delays.
  • Teamwork in collaborating with colleagues in the warehouse and other departments.
  • Manual handling experience (desirable)
