Window Installer Apprentice

If you’re interested in construction or looking to learn a trade, this could be the opportunity for you! We are excited to offer new opportunities for Window Installer Apprentices to join our team. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 18 months.

As an apprentice, you’ll study towards and complete the relevant qualification with dedicated support from a mentor, including a minimum of 6 hours of study or off-the-job training per week.


Role Overview

You will work alongside an experienced Installer team to learn the skills required to fit and install windows and doors in residential properties. From understanding the workflow process and collecting materials from the depot to removing old windows and fitting new ones, you’ll gain practical, hands-on experience. Your learning will be supported by off-the-job training to build your knowledge and skills.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assisting the Installer Team with removing and fitting windows and doors.
  • Liaising with the local depot and warehouse to check lead times and collect stock.
  • Learning and applying Health and Safety practices on and off-site.
  • Working on-site at customers’ premises.
  • Participating in off-the-job training and study sessions.

What You Need to Have

  • Willingness and ability to study towards the Installer qualification, including completing off-the-job training.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail for record-keeping.
  • Good observation and information-gathering skills, with the ability to identify and collect relevant evidence.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in various situations.
  • Good time management and arriving on time.
  • Excellent communication skills, with 46-55% of your time spent on external communication.
  • A commitment to regular reviews with your line manager to develop a personal development plan and take advantage of training opportunities.

Salary Details

  • £15,600 per annum (£8.00/hour): This rate applies to candidates who do not meet the legal and insurance requirements to drive company vehicles.
  • £22,308 per annum (£11.44/hour): This rate applies to candidates who hold a valid UK driving licence and meet the company’s requirements to drive company vehicles (subject to legal and insurance conditions).
