For our new Trainee Service Engineer roles, ideally you will have some experience within the home improvements industry (UPVC, Windows, doors, conservatories), but we are eager to speak to anyone from other industries  and experiences such as construction, engineering, carpentry and those with general home improvement and maintenance experience.

Regardless of your previous experience and skills our Support Service Engineer role will be provided with a robust and in-depth skills development course and the support of  an experienced Service Engineer to ensure you  gain an understanding of the role along with our products and processes by training on the job.

We are eagerly seeking our next generation of Support Engineers across the UK, and this is a fantastic chance to become part of the UK’s largest Home Improvement Company.

Your duties will include:

  • Visiting customer homes, identifying the fault, and taking the appropriate action to rectify in line with our warranty and our quality standards
  • To demonstrate & explain correct product care to customers
  • Completing service calls as scheduled and in a timely manner using our, “Right First Time” approach, helping to reduce any cancelled appointments
  • Accurate and timely completion of paperwork and regular updating of the supplied PDA device
  • Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with instructions, and to comply with safety rules/procedures, regulations and codes of practice

You will need:

  • Proficiencies in Math’s and English
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Be able to work on your own initiative in a standalone field-based role
  • A willingness to travel as required and show flexibility within the working week
  • Good time management skills
  • Good communication skills
  • A full driving license
